Marcos Baghdatis of Cyprus, a former Top 10 player and Australian Open finalist, has received the first wild card for the Fayez Sarofim & Co. US Men's Clay Court Championship that will be held at River Oaks Country Club April 7-13.
The United States Tennis Association (USTA) named Cooper Anderson of Western Washington University, the USTA Tennis On Campus National Leader of the Year for the 2013-2014 season. Not much to say about this except that Kei Nishikori waited until about two hours before his match to pull it. We'll have to see if he can play Davis Cup. The loss means that he will leave here at #18. Djokovic has now had two walkovers and has played only three matches here!
