Roger Federer Update July/2016

Please see the statement below that Roger made via his social media…

What a 2016. Filled with surprises in every direction. Every direction.Drug scandals. Coaches arrested. Gambling charges. Injuries…… We are all worn out. That clay season was cold, damp, rainy….

The grass court season was chilly, damp, drizzly, and more long long days. More stress. More waiting and starting and stopping and waiting and starting and stopping. So basically the tennis family is already feeling kind of weary. The players are tired. Or feeling the stress and strains of global travel and traffic and the strange life of permanent jet lag.

Player update:

Roger Federer pulls out in July For The Entire Season -All of the remainder 2016. Yikes. Pity. Terrible news. But always positive and hopeful for a full recovery and a return in 2017. We read this statement. It doesn’t really sound like Roger. But it’s his statement…. So we just hope he loves this time with his beautiful family. Enjoys his home. His privacy. His rest. He needs and deserves rest he pushed to come back fast. He had a great Wimby. It was on his racket to win or lose. Again. What a pity.

Big news. Dusan Vemic will coach the Serbian Olympic tennis team. Big congrats to our dear friend and lifetime ambassador. What a huge honor for the Vemic family. Here’s a photo of him with his buddy Novak Djokovic.

More Tidbits:

Yes, we normally love rain delays. They are an interesting time if you are keen at observing your surroundings. You see coaches talking to their players about what to eat and when to eat it. You see some coaches keep their players in locker rooms or hidden spots to stay focused and relaxed.

In the player computer area you see stacks of racket bags. Notice the coaches all now carry 2/3 bags. Little bags. It’s funny. Anyway you see it all. Last minute patch deals. Nerves. Card games. Lots of pasta you see lots and lots of pasta.

Lots of strawberries and cream. Funny thing is Frankie was just saying today that more than a few times Wimbledon was sold out of strawberries and cream. He said “Queens” strawberries were sweeter…. just saying.

We are sort of ready for the American hard court season. We are def not ready for the Olympics but we will be by opening ceremonies. We love it when tennis players are flag bearers.

The only way to describe this U.S. open is soaking wet without raining... It's really hard to play tennis when your socks are soaking wet and you are "sloshing" in your shoes. Your shoes get really heavy when they get wet.
