Sports Business Journal (Daniel Kaplan) reports that John Tobias an agent with Lagardère tennis division was fired while sitting in a bar? Who fires people in a bar? John was …. He was flown from the West coast office to NYC  to be dumped. Canned. Cut. Sliced and diced. His office  In California cleared out for him ? Wow. Rough stuff.
John is  a nice chap. He is a family man.  He grew up with the Bryan Brothers in Southern California. When he was instructed to fire two of his staffers. He ignored the orders to protect his agents and good-bye John. That part we can all understand. They had lost two superstars. They still have  Caroline Wozniacki. Who still doesn’t have a slam. John signed her as a teenager. Caro is very loyal. Obviously. With the departure of Bouchard and Azarenka, things needed to be ” fixed “at the agency and John would  not do it. It’s a pity since he was a great guy with a passion for the sport and his clients. But business is business. The agents he protected will probably be fired too. Not necessarily flown to NYC to be canned in a bar… but likely an email coming their way? John feels like he was terminated without cause and still has a few years in his contract.

On Instagram last night Bob Bryan posted a photo of himself and his beautiful wife Michelle from the hospital. After 33 hours of false labor. They were heading home to wait for baby number 3. Bob has hashtag #staycation  – maybe for him but certainly not for Michelle.

Twin Brother  Mike Bryan took the opportunity to play dubs with Stevie Johnson but they went out first round in Vienna, Austria to John Peers and Jamie Murray. Who just announced a split up after the Barclay’s Year end Championships.

Ryan Sweeting is asking for alimony from his TV highest paid star wife Kaley Cuoco. Very sad break up. But sadder to see the lawsuit over her  $$$….

Robin Soldering has produced a new silver tennis string and tennis balls which are being used in the Stockholm Open.

The WTA ladies tour has really embarrassed themselves with all this last minute players for the year end Final’s. The Florida office just announced that Kerber and Penatta  have just made the cut. (Qualified) Ridiculous. Flavia is in Russia at the Kremlin Cup. Really last minute. 11th hour. Pathetic is actually the word that comes to mind! 2 hours ago the WTA announced via twitter that @Flavia_Pennetta had qualified for Singapore. Now 30 minutes ago, Flavia announced that she has a foot injury – is that her way to get out of playing in Moscow and have enough time to get on a plane for 10.5 hours then arrive in Singapore fresh to play?   Please read Global Chick’s take on the whole thing – Click Here
