DAVIS CUP OR ” SCHMAVIS CUP ” , USTA SEEMS TO HAVE TROUBLE COMMUNICATING THEIR COMMUNICATIONS

The TENNIS CHANNEL is our host this week bringing the Davis cup from around the world to our tv or mobile devices via tennis channel everywhere. ( LIVE ! ) We saw the stadium in Geneva ,

Switzerland FULL. WE SAW THE FRENCH TIE BEING PLAYED IN PARIS. FULLER THAN FULL.

 

And we saw the U.S. arena in Chicago mostly ” DRAPED ” , which means instead of tennis fans in the seats there was plastic type wrap covering large sections. Some seemed to be needed based on how the court lined up in the setting.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

But still … Boys and Girls clubs. Free military. Big brothers , Big sisters. Pick a charity. NJTL ? Empty seats is a pity with so much great tennis being played.

 

It’s not the Bryan Brothers and/or Wayne Bryan and /or the dynamic Wolfington Brothers job to fill the arena. But guaranteed if it was. It would be full. ( hottest ticket in town)

 

Do I blame the USTA in part ? The answer is yes. The system is a mess. They are a bunch of finger pointers and shoe clerks ( Judge Robert J . Kelleher’s phrase for them ) and undertakers. ( that’s mine ) am I sore at the USTA ? Yes. Why ? Because common sense & Common decency rarely exist ….

 

This site 10sballs.com has been ” outcast ” by the USTA. ( We are too vocal for them and we have 50 years of 10s connections ) We are hoping under the new presidency of Katrina Adams we will see great changes and accountability.

Why are we saying Davis Cup ” Schmavis Cup” Because it seems that this USTA barely cares about putting on a great event. They need to do decent demographics. Put a Davis Cup match where you know you can sell it out. Price tickets to move them. Do deals. Individual days. Lower prices. Packages for all three days. Give the tennis fans that still exist affordable seats. Price the seats like the concerts. Front row the $$$. Next row a little less . Etc , Each row higher pays less.

 

We are hoping and cautiously optimistic that great changes are coming within the United States governing body of Tennis. When it was called the USLTA. It was a far better organization. We all thought the “L” stood for LAWN. But maybe it was for LOGIC ?

The only way to describe this U.S. open is soaking wet without raining... It's really hard to play tennis when your socks are soaking wet and you are "sloshing" in your shoes. Your shoes get really heavy when they get wet.
