I’m going to cherish the pen a little more… and always remember Jack for the positive attitude. I’m sitting composing this and holding a pen from Jack LaLanne’s 90th bday party. That was Jack’s motto…
Any guy who on his 70th bday tows seven boats filled with 10 people across the San Francisco bay… Oh I forgot he was handcuffed….
A lucky bunch of 10sballs.com staffers attended Jack’s 95th bday party… Turns out the BIG BOSS was an old friend… We all got juicers (fundraiser for ovarian cancer). Jack and Elaine LaLanne lived the life. They always ate right. And exercised. And were basically the parents of the health movement in the United States since the mid last century. Yes, also known as the 1950’s to some of us. Jack we will miss you.
O.K. I’ll go from an obit to a “double fault.” First one we have handed out. It goes to Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhuphati. Shame on you both for your gamesmanship (vamos). You are both so talented; wouldn’t you rather win on your skills? Guys, your country awarded you the highest honor possible. “The Parma Shri “… Equal to a knighthood in England…
I’m loving the men’s dubs at the Aussie open. Why? It’s normal old-fashioned scoring… The outcome isn’t based on luck… Wake up suits…. Maybe… ATP? That’s you. Fix the dubs scoring! Especially ashamed of you for using it at the ATP year-end finals….
Tennis Channel has a new series starting. Can’t wait to see the biography of Vitas…. What a colorful character. And a great ambassador for our sport… Bravo Tennis Channel. We love you… Also so nice to see POM juice as a highlight sponsor. Good move POM. It’s the right market.
Saw poker player Gus Hansen at the Australian open. We know he played tennis as a junior and still hits a solid ball….
Now I’m back to the “double fault.” Mahesh and Leander, you are blessed with talent, handsome looks, charm, wit, wisdom…. Guys you’re supposed to be great ambassadors for your sport and country… It’s not just the “vamos,” it’s all of your on court antics… All doubles will have two balls. Or they wouldn’t be a double. Oops. Meant to call them foot faults. Ok. I’ll save that for a bigger offense…
Finally, we are loving Sven’s blogs. The Mullane’s photos. Alix’s stories. Aussie Chick was so awesome she is becoming global chick. We are very lucky. We have a great team. Our staffers have really gone five sets every day of this slam. Thanks all. Especially to our captain.
