WTA rising star Belinda Bencic (SUI) claimed the first title of her career at the Aegon International Eastbourne on Saturday, beating world No.13 Agnieszka Radwanska (POL) 6-4 4-6 6-0.
There must be something in the water in Switzerland. These Swiss seem to have a knack on playing on the green stuff, which is strange as Bencic admitted to us on Friday that they don’t actually have grass courts there.
Once again the Slam draw on the women’s side could be one of the most open draws we have seen in recent times.
One of the most exciting rising stars on the WTA tour – and the youngest player in the main draw – Belinda Bencic (SUI), has progressed to the semi-finals at the Aegon International, beating Eastbourne’s Johanna Konta 2-6 6-0 6-3.
