India’s top-ranked singles player Somdev Devvarman will make his Mylan World TeamTennis debut this July for the San Diego Aviators after being selected as the first overall pick in today’s 2014 Mylan WTT Roster Draft at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden in Indian Wells, California.

It was another amazing day at the Indian Wells Tennis Gardens. Every time I turned around I saw old friends and new friends. We were @ credentials with 10sballs friend Austin Karosi who just flew in from Singapore. Great to see him back home in America.
Australian Open finalist Dominika Cibulkova fulfilled her top seeding after a few rough showings since Melbourne, with the Slovak beating Poland Urszula Radwanska 6-3, 6-4 in the first round.
Gael Monfils, who is committed to play in the BB&T Atlanta Open for the first time in 2014 and is excited about it: “I like to play in front of anybody. I like to play for a full crowd and I like to play on the American hard courts. If the crowd gets into the action, that makes it even better. I'm looking forward to playing in front of the fans in Atlanta for the first time.”
Roger Federer on what he learned from his five-set loss to former No. 1 Lleyton Hewitt in the 2003 Davis Cup semifinals: “I think it really proved to me that I could play great tennis not just for a set, two sets, but three sets or maybe even longer against the toughest guys out there,” Federer said of his five-set loss.
Sydney wasn't the only place hit with withdrawals on Sunday. Hobart didn't lose any seeds -- but, in an outcome that probably won't surprise anyone, it did lose Venus Williams. Venus pulled out after losing her final on Saturday, replaced by Lucky Loser Silvia Soler-Espinosa.

Wednesday’s matches and line-up of American tennis stars playing at the Women’s Pro Classic turned out to be an exciting day of tennis on Captiva at the South Seas Island Resort with local Lauren Embree, Melanie Oudin, Victoria Duval and Taylor Townsend all in action today.
Victoria Duval has not had an easy life. When she was seven, she was held hostage at gunpoint, along with her two cousins, by intruders at her aunt's house the Haitian capital, of Port-Au-Prince, when she was just seven.
Victoria Duval, 17, shocked Sam Stosur at the US Open. However, her coaching situation is a bit cloudy: “I'm back home right now,” she said.
