Wimbledon gets off to its traditional Monday afternoon start with the defending champion taking Centre Court. This time around, it is none other than Great Britain's own Andy Murray.
The Rafael Nadal vs. Roger Federer rivalry could be renewed this upcoming fortnight in the Wimbledon semifinals on a surface that is most likely to produce a riveting match--not unlike the one at the All-England Club in 2008. That possibility was revealed on Friday when the two men with 31 Grand Slam titles between them landed on the same side of the draw for the year's second major.
Roger Federer and the one player who has most modeled his strokes after those of Federer (Grigor Dimitrov), are in fine form heading into the upcoming installment of the Wimbledon Championships, which begin next week at the All-England Club.

Second seed Tomas Berdych and the youngest man in the Top 20, Grigor Dimitrov, both started well at the Aegon Championships, but the 2012 champion Marin Cilic fell at the first hurdle against an inspired Marinko Matosevic of Australia.
It was Maria Sharapova holding the trophy at the finish of the women’s singles at Roland Garros. It was the second longest women’s final in the history of the tournament. Sharapova and her opponent Simona Halep traded the lead throughout the long sets. It was an extraordinarily exciting final after last year’s romp by Serena Williams.

For a second straight week there is no Masters 1000 event and this time around there is not even a 500-pointer on the menu. Monte-Carlo and Barcelona have gone by the wayside and the back-to-back stretch of Madri followed by Rome does not begin until next week.
Grigor Dimitrov won the tourney in Bucharest. He beat Lukas Rosol 7-6, 6-1 to make that 3 ATP titles he has notched. His ranking will move up tomorrow when the ATP weekly rankings are posted. He is currently ranked 16. Will this put him in the top ten ? Or just near it.
