Kyrgios underwent a day of scans and examinations to his injured back and leg after losing to Jerzy Janowicz in the first round of the Apia International in Sydney.

Garner a top 24 seed and you're guaranteed to avoid the likes of Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, and Rafael Nadal until no earlier than the last 16. A seed does not, however, entirely exempt you from danger.
