Clay court tennis. Do you like it ? Love it ? Hate it ? Can you slide ? Do you like balls that skid off the line ? Do you like the “DIRT ” all over you ? How about when it goes down in your socks ? That’s seriously annoying ? Yup. How do I feel about clay whether it’s RED or RUST, or even ORANGE ( that’s for your SVEN ) or Burnt ORANGE or gray or BLUE ( I Loved The BLUE ) but like I said who cares cause here comes my favorite surface of all time. Green grass. Tennis was meant to play on grass. Not dirty , dusty dirt. ( that was for you Deb )
Pancho the key man around here has arrived in the United Kingdom. He has his allergy medicine packed so he is ready for the grass. Me , I’m loving looking at the grass. The Queens Club is gorgeous. Wimbledon is gorgeous and we will check out Birmingham and Stoke Park and Hurlingham . We are everywhere. Hurlingham was where Gussy Moran first wore the lace knickers.
Our most important stop on the trip are all the planned Rallys for Bally. If it weren’t for Elena Baltacha , Eleanor Preston and Alix Ramsay 10sballs.com might have lasted a year. Those wonderful three ladies gave us the courage to continue through un chartered waters. In the spirit of Bally we have made a contribution of note to Elena’s academy. We encourage all to do the same. We will continually , and annually support Bally’s dream which is now Nino’s to carry on.
