August 2018

It wasn’t a wet WIMBLEDON. But it was a wet U.S. summer. You had rain, humidity, oh yeah and floods. It was crazy the week of D.C. the week of Atlanta, Cincy.

What awaits the players at the U.S. Open in NYC? Besides the amazing TASTE OF TENNIS THURSDAY NIGHT!

We didn’t do a long range weather plan but it’s looking good. The new tennis site is looking great. The new rackets. Bags. Shoes. Stadiums. Upgrades. Free qualies. Free U.S. Open practice sessions. Free big screens in Manhattan. We are beyond excited. (First member of our team left today.)

But wait. Something still seems so wrong. Roger Federer not wearing Nike. It’s like seeing Bjorn BORG not in FILA. Or Superman without his cape and suit. Ok.

His clothes look o.k. They are actually quite nice. The Uniqlo. But the logo is still on the wrong side of RF hair (Headband)… Nike would have had that fixed overnight just saying. The clothes make him look like an imposter. That expression “BRANDED” A Federer look alike at Madame Trousseaus…? I don’t know.

And for real. What about all the stuff like the logo “RF” hats • the colors • the combos made with the fat embroidered RF initials popping at you that Nike made? Are they worth more? Or are they worth less?

Will we ever see RF again on a hat? Or RFF. Roger Federer’s Foundation. And is it really a $300 million dollar deal?

We are finding a fair amount of mean spirit within the community of the tennis players and the PICKLEBALL players. They can ️co exist nicely. We can help teach them some basics. They love what tennis players love but on a smaller court with different rules and equipment. That’s the big difference.

Let’s all help each other.

The Pickleball players don’t know to loosen their grip between points. They strain their wrists and firearms a lot.

Or where a tennis player stops vibration coming into their bodies with dampeners in the STRINGS the Pickle Ballers need something on the wrists… Maybe better made paddles… And Especially the balls!

• Sure hope they are recyclable.

The U.S.Open is moments away. We can already feel the excitement rising. The last SLAM | MAJOR of the year. Oh, wait. We can’t really say that anymore. [Laver Cup, other stuff, year end champs, all Majors]

How’s this • it’s the last SLAM of the year!
