What a week in Washington. Politics. No. The tennis. RAINY but Great! Celebrating 50 years. And for five days straight they had RAIN. You’d think you were at Wimbledon with the rain delays.

Donald Young Jr. won a hard fight against Stan Wawrinka. He then lost to Kei Nishikori. It appeared he was cramping.

Hot humid condition will do that. With rain delays you never know when you’ll play. You sit. You wait. You stretch. You practice. You shower. You ride the exercise bike. You eat. You nap. You have long days.

Andrea Petkovic the equally beautiful and brilliant player known as “PETKO” is in the semis. She played an amazing match against Belinda Bencic. She saved 3 match points in the last set tie breaker. 6-3,2-6,7-6(8)

It was awesome. Followed by Andrea in The Tennis Channels booth watching her own tiebreaker and doing a great running commentary of what she was feeling. Awesome Paul and Haber you were all fun to listen to.

Really not sure which she prefers first. The brains or the beauty. What an athlete. She is being coached by the Serbian tennis player / coach Dusan Vemic. Big congrats on recent marriage to the amazing Jelena.

Bob Bryan just had hip surgery in NYC. He tried rest and rehab to no avail. So we wish him a speedy recovery. Great time for him to spend with his beautiful family.

It’s going to be fun to see who Mike will keep teaming up with for the rest of 2018.

Andy Murray’s win over Kyle Edmund was beyond a battle and it was unreal how far he can push himself. 7-6 (4),1-6,6-4.

Oh. They started at midnite and finished at 3 am?

{I can’t remember but I think that was the match}

Who plays tennis from midnite till 3 in the morning? The body clock is saying. Sleep.

Tennis gets dumber by the day. (story for another time)

The next day he came out and played another three setter against a really fit and athletic talented player named Marius Copil from Romania. 6-7,(5),6-3,7-6(4)

What happened after Andy’s win against Marius. He was crying as he shook hands. By the time he sat in his chair on the court. He was full on sobbing into the towel. A full on cry for a good five minutes. I knew at that moment which is far more a locker room scene. That Andy’s body gave all he had.

I truly think he is done for the summer hard courts.

We wish all the Murray Clan well. We really are fans all the way up to Grandma Shirley.

In Los Cabos, Mexico we’ve seen photos of Fabio Fognini’s hair braided all week like little girls like on the beach. We finally heard he lost a bet. And his braids are tight and giving him a headache. But it was cute.

Why tennis plans tourney’s in Mexico is beyond many of us. It’s a dangerous place.

They use resorts as event arenas so they can keep the players on site.

The dubs finals has Taylor Fritz and Thanasi Kokkinakis playing together.

Last year “The Koke” won the singles in Cabo. He had that freak run in with court signage this year. It messed up his knee for awhile. Glad to see him back.
