TENNIS IS TOO EXPENSIVE TO WATCH • TO PLAY • THE TENNIS INDUSTRY DOES ALMOST ZERO PROMOTIONS OR PROMOTING PLAYERS  |

Tennis is losing its audience. It doesn’t understand its demographics. They live by the movie line “if you build it, they will come”… nope.

Tennis must make seats affordable for all the people. Ok. Good start. It’s sad but true. When you see week after week of empty stands not seats. STANDS. Even whole empty stadiums.

Live feeds don’t lie! I’ve suggested letting the volunteers on breaks. The ball kids. Anyone credentialed on site. At least fill some empty seats. Media. Players coaches wanting to scout a match. Fill the seats. Grow the sport.

Maybe first come basis you give Free Admission to juniors. Free to USTA members or any local tennis federation. Free to Military. Free to Firefighters. Free to Nurses. Free to Tennis teachers with groups of their students. Come on tennis. Wake up.

This year’s New York tourney was a joke. Sorry Josh. It was. You’ve been around tennis long enough. The live feeds don’t lie!

First year of event. Sorry that’s No excuse. The event Mainly used social media for reaching public and a ticket sales co. for sales.

Tennis seats should be bought via a team on the event staff that has proper seating charts and is friendly and knows how to make people content with their ticket location and price.

Value for your money at tennis. Not when a match starts at midnite. New York Was a LAZY attempt at holding an event. It’s not the only one! Most tourneys are run poorly. Tennis is in the HOSPITALITY biz. It hasn’t woken up. The patrons need phone calls and post cards and multiple emails. They need a relationship with the event.

New York should be a sell out daily. But it’s not easily reached by public transport. Best suggestion there is Tri state area. Use private bus company. Limo company. Vans. Pick these people up. Do a ️nice shuttle into Manhattan. Be resourceful.

Ok. Onto talking about MEXICO. It’s got Monterrey. It’s has Cabo. It’s has Acapulco. The events are held at resorts. Certainly for safety issues. The hospitality and FUN at these events are amazing.

The CABO tennis tourney did something we’ve harped on for 25 years. Make a commemorative coin. One side the event and year and other side whatever. A cool gift to ticket holders. As a memento. Or a Souvenir. Look at photos. They did it.

The tourism board makes certain that they get global exposure. I can’t explain it. But when was the last time you saw a tennis player cross over to the main stream media. I mean in ads. Not for news items. Tennis players aren’t household names. A few are. Rafa. SERENA. VENUS. Vika. Roger. Andy. NOvak.

But after a handfull who knows the tennis players? Who markets them? Any major tennis manufactured advertise in newspapers? Tennis demographics are older people. So if stadiums keep getting bigger and bigger you’ll just see more empty seats. And guess what folks. Ready. Players like to play in front of full stadiums with SPECTATORS! Interesting concept.

Bravo Cabo on The coins!

The game is eating itself up. The greed in all major factors is beyond belief. Tennis is not clean it is “complicated” in such minor ways the average fan doesn’t see it.

When “One Percenters” complain about ticket prices it speaks volumes.

Too many tennis events had to live up to these stupid standards set by the ATP or WTA or ITF. Or whoever the great puppeteers are in our sport.

You all know who you are. You sit in the Royal Boxes and Presidents Boxes and on boards and in player boxes and in back rooms…
