Tennis on grass. It’s just the best. The team from 10sBalls is here in London minus our fearless leader.

We are at The QUEENS CLUB watching the ATP players play at their favorite tournament. Yep. The “QUEENS” Event is what the ATP calls a “500” level. This tourney has been voted by the players Four years as their favorite event. ( twice as a “250” and twice as a “500” Level event )

We know why for multiple reasons. Charlotte Stone is as efficient as they come working with the players on the business end of things. She was influential in assisting Chris Kermode make this event what it became. THE BEST!

That’s a good start. But imagine a tennis tourney with their own concierge…. In this case it’s the charming and brilliant Fraser Russell of HEAD CONCIERGE. This is Frasers 15 th Year at Queens • He sees to it that all the players and their “teams” or entourages ( wives, girlfriends, coaches, physios , friends, family … ) That They all have every need met. He can organize anything in a blink! Theater tickets , dinner reservations, a nanny , you name it , he can do it. He also is about to start his 9th year at the ATP year end Championships in November held in London at the O2 arena.

We love “The Club”. We’ve been coming to this event since 1990. It’s our favorite event as well as the players.

Sven Groenveld were your ears burning today ? Greg Rusedski and I had breakfast and we were talking about you ! Happy to see Maria Sharapova just announced she will be playing team tennis for the Newport BREAKERS.

We went into the clubs Pro shop and found such an amazing selection of tennis shoes and clothes. We saw something that’s not easy to find in America. Children’s tennis clothes. We used to see them everywhere.

I was actually able to try on all the shoes till I found a great pair. 10sballs is not a fan of the tennis online stores. We love the old little tennis pro shops that cater to clients needs properly. The right fit for a grip. A racket.strings and their tension. Shoes that fit perfectly , etc..

The club is gorgeous. The grounds are immaculate. The staff everywhere are intelligent and helpful. Seriously their ushers are called stewards . They are polite and helpful to try to keep all the seats filled. They really keep the crowd very civilized.

I’m writing this sitting next to Fraser’s desk in the players lounge.

Stan the Man Wawrinka just walked in and kissed Charlotte on both cheeks and gave Fraser a warm greeting as well minus the kisses. [The players are signing posters for charity auctions]

The PIMMS is served by the glass or by the pitcher. Every time a pitcher of the libation goes past I have to remind myself. It has gin in it. So we all pass. But somehow with all those pitchers going by no ones passed out yet.

It’s been another great day in London at QUEENS • right now a pint of brew and Fish and Chips anyone ?

The only way to describe this U.S. open is soaking wet without raining... It's really hard to play tennis when your socks are soaking wet and you are "sloshing" in your shoes. Your shoes get really heavy when they get wet.
