British stars Heather Watson and Naomi Broady headline what promises to be a bumper day of tennis at the Aegon Classic Birmingham on Monday.

Watson takes on talented Italian Camilla Giorgi in the second match on the Ann Jones Centre Court, while Broady will be up against charismatic Australian up-and-comer Daria Gavrilova. American Madison Keys, who reached last year’s Wimbledon quarter-finals, and Timea Babos will play the first main draw match of the 2016 tournament, while World No.15 Carla Suarez Navarro and big hitting Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, ranked 23, will also be in main draw action.

This year’s 32-player main draw at the Aegon Classic Birmingham features nine Top 20 players in total, including British No.1 Johanna Konta, who goes into the WTA Premier event on home soil with a career high ranking of 18 in the world.

Monday will also see the completion of remaining qualifying matches. Great Britain’s Laura Robson fell in the second round of qualifying on Saturday with a 61 63 defeat to promising Czech youngster Katerina Siniakova.
