The Filipek family puts in endless hours and blood, sweat, and tears! It also shows Their respect for all the generations of Filipeks and their LOVE and DEVOTION and Dedication To TENNIS. MISSION STATEMENT

Our family and 25 dedicated volunteers have worked tirelessly to put together this wonderful tennis tournament in memory of our dad. It is a 100% non-profit event. In 2015 we are “Celebrating Our 11^th Year” and our venue will be the Copper Valley Swim & Tennis Club, Cheshire, CT

Our mission is twofold:

1. To raise revenue over expenses, all of which is donated back into our communities. Since our dad’s untimely passing in 2005, we have awarded scholarships to student athletes, supported local park and recreation departments and other meaningful charities ($87,550 in nine years).

2. Our second mission is to put together the finest family, community tennis tournament in New England. With almost 700 entries in 2014, an unprecedented number for a tournament in NE, we are accomplishing this goal. Our tournament is a 9-day event with 22 divisions for all levels of play, 5 high school divisions, a 4 day round-robin for junior boys & girls and a Free Clinic & Fun Day for Kids, which has been at capacity the past few years. Enhancing our tournament every year is a primary goal of our tournament committee.

We have again not raised entry fees, but we are asking players, families & spectators to please participate in our raffle/silent auction to benefit the scholarship fund.

MATCH INFORMATION

• Matches will be held at the Copper Valley Swim & Tennis Club and other sites

• Any player 15 minutes late will forfeit his/her match

• Scoring: 2 out of 3 sets, 12 point tie breaker

• You can enter 2-3 events (max. of 3) but may be required to play multiple matches in one day

• You must be available to play on the 1^st weekend

• Players will call their own lines

Michael is proud to host our Free Clinic & Fun Day for the 10th consecutive year. He was born and raised in central CT and was twice the #1 ranked junior in New England. Michael is the founder and director of the Michael Filipek Tennis Academy, is a USPTA Certified Tennis Professional and has 18 years of full time teaching experience. He is the Head Pro/Junior Development Director at the Sutton East, Yorkville and Vanderbilt Tennis Clubs NYC and his Junior Development Program is the largest in Manhattan. His enthusiastic, caring style inspires players of all ages and levels.
