The Royal Lahaina Resort and Royal Lahaina Tennis Garden are proud to be Hawaii’s first and only resort destination to provide the revolutionary PlaySight tennis technology. With the resort’s 11 pristine courts, The PlaySight system offers the first SmartCourt and live-streaming tennis capabilities in the state.

Gary Hogan, CEO of Hawaiian Hotels and Resorts said, “The Royal Lahaina Resort and Tennis Garden is proud to be the first in the state to offer PlaySight’s SmartCourt technology.  This state-of-the-art tool makes reviewing and improving your tennis game, at any level, much more exciting and enjoyable. As one of the top 100 tennis destinations in the world, The Royal Lahaina Resort and Tennis Garden is a natural to be the first to introduce this technology to Hawaii”

Royal Lahaina Resort guests and tennis garden members, along with entire local tennis community, will benefit from use of this amazing program.  And, all future Royal Lahaina Tennis Garden tournament matches will utilize PlaySight technology. The SmartCourt is permanently equipped with six HD cameras and an interactive touchscreen kiosk; together they offer the most advanced tennis analytics available.  Additionally, the SmartCourt provides line calling, instant multi-angle video replays and detailed statistics on every shot played.  The system uses advanced image processing and analytical algorithms to capture and log stroke type, speed and spin with in-depth shot data for every player.

Thomas Shubert, a former professional tennis player who is currently a private coach for all levels of play said, “This technology allows players the ability to receive instant feedback and directs them to make immediate adjustments to their strategies. Because PlaySight captures everything that happens on the court including ball speed, trajectory, and distance traveled by each player, it’s an amazing learning tool that will provide unique motivation to players of any level.”

With its deep history of showcasing tennis at every level, the Royal Lahaina Resort and Tennis Garden is Hawaii’s premier tennis destination. In 2014, the United States Tennis Association awarded the ranch its highest honor of Tennis Facility of the year. With its championship tennis courts, two oceanfront swimming pools and location adjacent to Ka‘anapali’s world renowned golf courses, Royal Lahaina’s 27 acres fronting famous Ka‘anapali Beach offer a five-star experience. All of this combined with a recent, luxurious $35-million transformation of its guestrooms, suites and beachfront cottages, makes the Royal Lahaina Resort everything you could want in a tropical tennis destination.
