CLAYTON ALENIK GETS INTO THE UNITED STATES AIR FORCE ACADEMY

MARTY HENNESSY INSPIRING CHILDREN FOUNDATION’S 84th SCHOLARSHIP

The Marty Hennessy Inspiring Children Foundation is proud to announce their 84th scholar athlete to receive a college scholarship. Foundation youth Clayton Alenik was just given a verbal commitment to attend and play for the United States Air Force Academy, recently ranked the #3 public University in the nation. The college boast 37 Rhodes scholarships, 14 Marshall Scholarship Recipients, 16 Truman Scholarships Recipients and countless CEO’s, Gold medal winners and professional athletes. Alenik was recruited to join this storied tradition to play tennis on their NCAA Division 1 men’s team.

“It is truly humbling to see my son be excepted into the Air Force Academy,” said his father David Alenik. “Never would Clayton be receiving this honor without the support of Ryan Wolfington, Tim Blenkiron, Trenton his brother, Coach Yee and the environment that he was raised in at the Marty Hennessy Inspiring Children Foundation.

Clayton has been part of the Marty Hennessy Inspiring Childten Foundation and the elite TEAM BRYAN Leadership program since he was nine years old. As captain of TEAM BRYAN he has represented the Foundation at the United States Tennis Association’s Annual meeting, U.S. OPEN and NJTL Excellence Team Cup. Clayton is a top nationally ranked tennis player who trains at Tim Blenkiron’s NO QUIT Tennis Academy at Lorenzi Park in Las Vegas. Alenik has won numerous national level tournaments and the national sportsmanship award at the Easter Bowl. As a Student at Odyssey Charter School Alenik has a 4.5 grade point average and presently has all A’s.

“We have had the pleasure to watch Clayton grow into an extraordinary young man, ” said coach Tim Blenkiron. “His greatest impact is as a leader who is kind and good natured to everyone. He is loyal, hard working and a big part of our family tradition. He never quit and is now reaping the benefits.”

Alenik is the captain of the TEAM BRYAN Leadership Program and is a great example of the Foundation’s core values.

“The honesty and trust that our friendship has is unlike any other, ” said teammate Mario Aguayo. “Whenever I feel down or alone, he always finds a way to bring me back up. He is one of the nicest guys I ever met and I can’t overstate all the joy that he brought to my life.”

Alenik was selected for the Foundation’s prestigious Post Graduate Internship Program where he took on key roles running the non-profit Foundation this year. This comprehensive “project driven learning” program arms students like Alenik with the real life experience and leadership responsibilities to prepare them for colleges like the Airforce Academy. During this time Alenik helped create and lead a campaign that raised over $80,000.

Alenik joins a long list of alumni that are now at some of the best colleges in the world including Stanford, Princeton, Harvard, Georgetown, The Citadel, Vanderbilt, BYU, Wharton School of Business at University of Pennsylvania and many others.

“It’s neat to see my brother benefit from the same program that changed my life,” said Trent Alenik, a Foundation alumni and now the organization’s Executive Director. “The whole Foundation is proud of him.”

Clayton Alenik is from a family of five, his parents Dave and Annie, sister Bianca and brother Trent. Their family has been a donor and supporter of the Foundation for over a decade.

“I have always said “Parents make it possible,” said Ryan Wolfington who started the Foundation as a volunteer fourteen years ago. “The Alenik family has always been there to support the programs and to buy in 100%. This scholarship is largely due to their great parenting and support.”

Many of Clayton’s teammates are proud of him. As captain he leads by example as a high level student, volunteer and servant leader.

“Clayton is such a positive and welcoming person and I am so glad that I can be around him on a daily basis,” said teammate Sophie Henderson. “When I first began the program Clayton really made me feel like I belonged and it meant a lot to me. I don’t know what we will do when he is gone. ”

Clayton said he incredibly excited to be attending the Air Force Academy this coming fall.

“I know I couldn’t have done it without my parents, brother, sister: and the Foundation has been my rock,” said Alenik. “There were times I didn’t think I would get into any colleges and now having the privilege to say I will be attending the United States Air Force Academy is an incredible honor and I know I will maximize the opportunities in the classroom, on the court, and in my life.”

ABOUT THE FOUNDATION

The Marty Hennessey Inspiring Children Foundation was started over 10 years ago by Ryan Wolfington and Marty Hennessey. With the support of entertainment legend Tony Bennett, The Wolfington Family Foundation and Andre Agassi’s father Mike, as well as the #1 doubles team in the world Bob and Mike Bryan, the foundation has been able to raise over a million dollars to help hundreds of at risk youth annually. The foundation’s return on investment is $7 for every $1 donated. To date over 84 children have earned college scholarships in excess of $15,000,000 to schools like Stanford, Princeton, The University of Pennsylvania Wharton School Of Business, Vanderbilt, Georgetown, Villanova, The Citadel, BYU and many others. More importantly many of the alumni have gone on to become kind hearted human beings who are close to conscience, where doing the right thing is a primary focus.

The Foundation’s goal is to provide the ultimate environment for a child to become their best in all areas of their life. This includes excellence in academics, athletics, inter-personal skills, leadership, as a mentor and someone willing to be mentored. We hope to arm children with a variety of ways to grow intellectually, mentally, physically and in their relationship with themselves and their community.

Our program is designed to go deeper into the subjects of life, personal improvement and the pursuit happiness. In the end our long term goal is to help children to become “Professionals @ Life,” to get scholarships to college, to find self confidence, so they can share this wisdom with their families, friends and communities. We have seen our young leaders become examples of extraordinary living and happiness, which has created systemic change and has inspired the lives of hundreds of families.
