Top-seeded Taylor Fritz would like nothing more than to have both he and fellow American junior tennis player Tommy Paul win their respective U.S. Open junior semifinal matches on Saturday at the USTA Billie Jean King Tennis Center.

If they do, it would set up a rematch between the two who last played in the French Open semifinals won by Paul. Playing in his fourth consecutive junior Grand Slam quarterfinal, Rancho Santa Fe’s Fritz took out yet another American, Alex Rybakov, 6-3, 6-0, on Friday to make his third straight junior Grand Slam semifinal.

“Yeah, of course I want to win, but I really want Tommy to win too,” said Fritz, who lost to American Reilly Opelka in the junior Wimbledon final in July. “That’d be fun to have a rematch of the French. I wouldn’t want it any other way than to have two Americans playing in the final of the U.S. Open.”

It last happened at the U.S. Open in 2010 when Jack Sock beat Denis Kudla in an All-American final, and it also happened in 2000 when Andy Roddick beat Robby Ginepri.

Fritz will play No. 11-seeded Yunseong Chung of Korea on Saturday.
