Current and Former Tennis Players to Join in USTA’s Youth Tennis On-Court
Tennis Activities
The White House Easter Egg Roll takes place in President’s Park on the South Lawn of the White House. This year’s theme, “#GimmeFive,” encourages Americans across the country to share five things they are doing to eat better, be more active, and lead a healthier life, and supports the First Lady’s Let’s Move! initiative to help kids grow up healthy and have the opportunity to reach their full potential.
This is the sixth consecutive year that the USTA has been involved in the annual event. Celebrating this year’s White House Easter Egg Roll theme, “#GimmeFive” the USTA will offer tennis sized right for age and ability for kids in support of the First Lady’s initiative to get kids active.
The USTA made a long-standing commitment and is leading the charge through its youth participation initiative to encourage young people to get active and start playing tennis. Youth Tennis is geared towards getting more kids to play tennis using kid-friendly equipment – shorter courts, lower-bouncing balls, and lighter racquets, tailored for all ages and levels. The USTA has been engaging millions of children in tennis, introducing tennis to thousands of schools throughout the country, providing grants for grassroots tennis programs, creating partnerships to create awareness of the benefits of tennis, and building youth-sized courts that provide a place for today’s youth to play tennis.
Throughout the day, USTA executives, staff and athletes will be working with children via the on-court youth tennis activities. The following athletes are scheduled to make appearances: USTA Chairman of the Board, CEO and President Katrina Adams; World #5 Caroline Wozniacki; Three-Time Paralympic Gold Medalist David Wagner; Rajeev Ram; Vicky Duval; Stefan Kozlov; Coco Vandeweghe; Noah Rubin; Alicia Black and Frances Tiafoe.
In addition, the official White House Easter Eggs, sold by the National Park Foundation and benefiting America’s national parks, are available at easter.nationalparks.org.
