Indian Wells To Offer Much More Than Tennis Matches During The Tournament

A wide slate of fan-friendly events and activities are scheduled over the fortnight of the 2015 BNP Paribas Open to enhance the fan experience at the tournament.

On Saturday, March 7, from 1:00-4:00 p.m., the Indian Wells Tennis Garden will host BNP Paribas Open Kids Day. The free event boasts an afternoon of activities on and off the court featuring ATP World Tour and WTA professional player appearances, clinics and interactive games.

Fans can take advantage of free admission on Monday, March 9, and Tuesday, March 10, and join WTA (March 9) and ATP World Tour (March 10) professionals in front of the main video wall at 3:00 p.m. each day to see the making of the main draw ceremonies.

For the sixth year, BNP Paribas will promote green initiatives with its “Rally, Roundup and Recycle” program where the first 1,000 fans can receive a new tube of Penn tennis balls in exchange for six used tennis balls. They will be set up on the middle and final weekends (March 14-15, 21-22 from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.) on the North side of the Superwall in the Stadium Plaza.

Bank of the West, a member of the BNP Paribas Group, welcomes fans to its exhibitor booth to show off their most smashing moves with Bank of the West’s Smash Cam, a wrap-around camera array that gives you a one-of-a-kind, 180° photo to share with family and friends.

Masimo, the official medical technology sponsor of the tournament, is presenting sponsor of the McEnroe Challenge for Charity on Saturday, March 7, which provided 8,000 free tickets for a fun evening of tennis. In addition to John McEnroe, the participants also include Andy Roddick, Tracy Austin, Lindsay Davenport, James Blake, Rick Leach, Coco Vandeweghe and Madison Keys. Visit the exhibitor booth to learn about their newest innovation medical device, the Mighty Sa, a fingertip pulse oximeter for both sports and consumer use.

Fila, the official apparel and footwear provider, will present to fans an informal fashion show on Thursday, March 12, between Stadium 1’s first and second match on the Village Stage, as Fila debuts its new “Ready Set Glow & Suit Collection” designed by 2013 WGSN Global Fashion Awards finalist Francine Candiotti. Look for Glow Glasses to be given away in Stadium 1 lucky row promotions, and high school players to benefit from Fila’s junior mentoring program when American Sam Querrey puts on a clinic for them on Tuesday, March 10.

Esurance, the official insurance partner, will set up a swing cage for fans in its exhibitor booth providing a personalized, in-depth analysis of their tennis swing using innovative technology. Come directly to Stadium 1 when gates open at 10 a.m. and you may catch a t-shirt giving you the chance to “Serve It Up” on court and meet a player before matches begin. And be sure to pick up a free Yowie towel during Esurance Day on Wednesday, March 18.

The middle Saturday, March 14, is Emirates Day, in which 10,000 red hats will be handed out at the gates and a kids’ clinic will be put on as part of the company’s tennis and education program. The Ball Flight promotion will be held again in Stadium 1 that day, where fans have the chance to win a round-trip flight from Los Angeles to Dubai. And anytime during the event be sure to test your skills at the World Tour Challenge at the Emirates booth.

Evening Entertainment Kicks Off with the Bryan Brothers on Thursday, March 12, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. The Tennis Garden Village will come alive as the greatest doubles team in the history of the game and two-time defending BNP Paribas Open Doubles Champions – Bob and Mike Bryan and their band hold an exclusive performance featuring Dan Dasher on vocals, Jim Bogies from Counting Crows and Southern Californian singer/songwriter George Holdcroft. Last, the night session will be Champions Night, where a percentage of all purchased evening session single tickets is donated to The Champions Volunteer Foundation. 95.9 FM The Oasis will program live music each subsequent night through Friday, March 20.

Friday, March 13, will feature Salute to Heroes Night presented by the City of Indian Wells. For more than a decade this special ceremony has recognized veterans, military personnel, police and firemen following the first evening session match on Stadium 1.

The BNP Paribas Open Collegiate Challenge presented by Oracle has expanded from four to eight NCAA men’s tennis teams and will be held over the final weekend, March 20-22, of the BNP Paribas Open. Play begins at 9:00 a.m. each day and is free for fans with BNP Paribas Open tickets or event credentials for the respective date.
