The 10s WHENEVER Newsletter #400 Tidbits & Misc. Thoughts From The Four Years We’ve Been Established

10sBalls.com was a reactive thought set into motion by some serious people within the tennis family. Real insiders walking a fine line from years past of being a stealthy force that kept quiet or ran info via TENNIS WEEK and Gene Scott till his site went “DARK” to a force to be reckoned with.

Dr. Lovey Jergens our fearless leader has over 50 years in the sport or is it a GAME ? Gene’s column was called “VANTAGE POINT.” GENE IS A BIG SHOT EVEN IN TENNIS HEAVEN. HE WAS MY MENTOR AND THE SITE EXISTS BECAUSE GENE’S DOES Not.

WE HAVE TO SEND A HUGE AMERICAN SHOUT OUT TO IRENE LEE.

WE REALLY DIDNT WANT TO BE BURDENED WITH THE TIME /costs/etc of the newsletter. But Dear Irene kept pushing us to do it more frequently. We named it the 10sWhenever newsletter to be just that. “Whenever” . We thank Irene because she was right. Our readers love it’s new short one story version.

We do wish you’d all encourage your tennis friends to sign up. Forward them one of your favs as a sample. The EPA photos we use are top rate. Those EPA guys are in a league of their own. They are such artists and to shoot tennis is grueling. Talk about feeling the heat from the court. Those guys are in the pits , the trenches.

We really have such an amazing year. We covered tournaments with teams of 3 where we could @ Slams , ( yes , we Covered Wimbledon too ). We were in England for the whole grass court season as well as going back for the year end championships at the. 02 arena. Pancho made friends all over the world. Alex held down the fort. Global Chick was totally amazeballs at getting all the scoops. The team really performed. We our proud of all of our staff. Running a website is 24/365 … We work all hours of the day and night. Thanks Ricky Dimon for your slant. Mori kept us “UP” when we spiked thru the roof. We are blessed with a great team.

We are all Mostly tennis nerds. A few HISTORIAN’S. We feel it is our job to expose the ridiculous within the USTA , LTA , any of the bigger federations or even smaller ones. For there to be growth in the game we need lower ticket prices , more fan friendly environment …..

We need more transparency in the game & people working in the sport must carry the passion versus being power hungry back stabbing workers. ( sounds like we are still mad at the USTA for our Continual crummy treatment from the media department …) We see way too many staffers at events see it as , it’s just a job. That’s never a good thing in a boutique sport , game ? We need everyone that’s on board to not act so bored ? We need follow up and accountability.

We are pleased for the USTA that the incoming president is Katrina Adams. We believe she can clean house a bit for American tennis. We feel she gets it and we know she really cares. We wish her the best of luck. So happy to see the ” Mac Reign ” end. It had no future.( the history books will show Pat’s dry spell ) Tennis in America does have a great future. There’s still lots of depth ! But really is it a game or a sport ? So happy to see the Davis cup tie. To see the Swiss and the French showing each other so much respect and love. We are sorry the Spaniards who had so many options for their Davis cup captaincy got a journey woman pro ? Weird choice that we are fairly certain will be overturned by their first match in the summer.

We close this email with hopes and wishes that tennis becomes more popular. It is “The sport of a lifetime ” . For me personally my tennis racket has been the magic “key ” to all the happiness in my beautiful life. I can say I enjoyed watching the game with my parents for over 50 years. What a blessing. It’s been a great ride. A tennis racket and a dream. Amazeballs.

P.S. We forgot to thank our “friends” from SOLINCO STRINGS ! K.T. KIM has been the driving force behind the company and proudly we aligned with them from the start. It’s a great string. We cherish the partnership.
