Newly crowned 18-time Grand Slam Winner to lead The South Beach Quarter Marathon,

5K Run/Walk and KIDS Dash to benefit the Serena Williams Fund in support of education and victims of violent crimes

 

 

On the heels of making history after winning the 2014 U.S. Open – her 18th Grand Slam title – Serena Williams will join thousands of avid running enthusiasts from South Florida and around the country for the first annual Serena Williams Ultimate RUN South Beach, taking place on Sunday, December 14th. The Quarter Marathon (6.55 miles), 5K Run/Walk and Ultimate KIDS Dash will bring together runners of all ages and abilities to support the Serena Williams Fund, which provides assistance to families affected by violent crimes and providing underprivileged youth around the world with the highest quality of education available to them. VIP KICK-OFF EVENT – FRIDAY, DECEMBER 12TH – 8PM: 125 OCEAN DRIVE, MIAMI BEACH

Billed as the “Ultimate Evening with Serena Williams” – a Who’s Who of South Florida’s most influential

tastemakers and socialites will attend a special invitation-only evening at a private penthouse residence in

Miami Beach. Attendees will have a chance to bid on a series of exclusive live and silent auction items

for proceeds that will benefit The Serena Williams Fund.

 

 

 

SERENA WILLIAMS ULTIMATE RUN – SUNDAY, DECEMBER 14TH – 8AM: 11TH/OCEAN DRIVE

CHECK-IN AT MEDIA TENT FROM 7:30AM NEXT TO THE START LINE ON 11TH STREET/OCEAN DRIVE

START/FINISH LINE PHOTO AND SOUND BITE OPPORTUNITIES AVAILABLE

 

The Quarter Marathon (6.55 miles), 5K Run/Walk and Ultimate KIDS Dash will bring together runners of all

ages and abilities to support the Serena Williams Fund. Up to 3,000 runners are expected to line the streets

of the world famous Ocean Drive to run alongside Serena Williams and elite runners that will include athletes

from the Nike Oregon Project, including U.S Olympian and American middle distance runner, Shannon

Rowbury, the Canadian long-distance Olympic runner, Cam Levins, as well as a number of other notable

athletes and celebrities.

SERENA WILLIAMS ULTIMATE RUN KARAOKE AFTER-PARTY – SUNDAY, DECEMBER 14TH

STARTING AT 8AM AT THE CLEVELANDER – 1020 OCEAN DRIVE

 

Participants are invited to the Clevelander South Beach where Serena will be hosting a karaoke after-party.

The venue, which will be open starting at 8AM, will offer a special brunch menu and specialty cocktails for

runners and running supporters. The Clevelander is located at 1020 Ocean Drive.
