Every tennis season delivers plenty of bizarre moments and 2014 was no exception. On both the men's and women's tours, things happened that had to be seen in order to be believed. For now, however, we'll do our best to describe those wild and wacky happenings in writing.

In 2014, we welcomed three first-time participants to the World Tour Finals--Kei Nishikori, Marin Cilic, and Milos Raonic. Will we see something similar in 2015, perhaps from Grigor Dimitrov? Or will Rafael Nadal and Juan Martin Del Potro manage to stay healthy and restore order to the London lineup?
If 2013 was the year that put Eugenie Bouchard in the spotlight, 2014 was the one that showed the tennis star is no flash in the pan. The Westmount, Que., native had a phenomenal year on the WTA tour, rising from 32nd in the rankings to No. 5 at one point before ending it at an impressive No. 7.
Aloha and Mahalo. There's nothing like the north shore of Oahu. Especially during the Triple crown. Or even better the "Eddie" ... BIG Waves ... Canadian tennis star Milos Raonic set three main goals at the start of the 2014 season. He wanted to reach the top six in the world rankings, go deeper in Grand Slam events and qualify for the ATP Finals. Raonic hit all those targets over a campaign highlighted by a semifinal appearance at Wimbledon and his first World Tour 500-level event victory.

The world No. 2 Swiss, according to the Forbes magazine compilation, earned an estimated $40 million in annual off-court income from a handful of blue-chip, long-term sponsors.

2014 has been a great year for men's professional tennis. It's been a great year for all the SUPERSTARS of ladies tennis. It's been hard on the FAN. The ticket prices are too high. The old tourney directors and promoters never factored in players pay checks from ticket holders seat prices. Nope. That's what the sponsors were for.
