It was so sad that for the Barclays year end men’s tennis championships in 2013 when Andy Murray qualified but couldn’t play due to a back surgery. The part that got us was they took his image away in the venue. It maybe didn’t belong in and around London. But he deserved his image @ the 02 ARENA. . Not much of the box office success is connected with Andy’s playing. The Barclays ATP World Tour Finals during their five years stay at Londons 02 Arena has been a huge success either way. The arena is spectacular. The prices for tickets is very fair even cheaper that most tour events grounds passes. The format is great. The whole experience is that of an American Super Bowl.

This year the Scots chances of qualifying are now perilous after he has dropped to 11th place in the Race for London.

After an extension negotiated last year, the agreement with the London venue has two more editions of the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals to run but though the organizers will be keen for Murray to play, he left New York after losing in the US Open quarterfinals, claiming indifference.we complete

We understand the poor blokes feeling down. It was the last SLAM of the year. The great champion within him wanted to win it ! He is down and disappointed. Plus he now questions his cramping. How could he get cramps ? He trains in Miami year round. Summertime too ?

To be honest, it was not a massive goal of mine, said Murray of being amongst the worlds top eight players to contest the event, which begins on Sunday, November 9.

It’s obviously nice to qualify, it’s a good tournament. I played a number of years and enjoyed it. But I won’t expect to overplay just to try to qualify.

Although Murray missed last years event in the aftermath of his late September back surgery, he has been as integral to the tournament as the presence of Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, and Rafael Nadal.

At the moment Murray is next designated to play at the Shanghai Rolex Masters an event he won with back-to-back titles in 2010 and 2011 starting in approximately a months time on October 5. The week prior to that he has wild card entries open to him at both the China Open in Beijing and the Rakuten Japan Open in Tokyo but is stressing the two tournament directors by delaying his decision on which to play, or whether to play at all.

Murray said: Ill take a break now for a couple of weeks and then decide what the goals are and what I want to do between now and the end of the year.

We applaud the ATP World Tours executive chairman and president Chris Kermode he is one of the best guys in tennis. His Queens event and Barclays year end championships were superb under his management. We are confident the ATP world tour is in great hands.
