THE BRYAN BROTHERS WIN THEIR 100TH TITLE AND IT'S ACCOMPLISHED @ THE US OPEN. THE CHAMPAGNE & HEINEKEN ARE GONNA BE FLOWING TONITE.

EDITORS NOTES : Most of us here @10sballs.com have known Bob and Mike since they were little skinny boys. Geezer said they hit the radar in 1984 when UCLA hosted a college event. They used the new stadium as if it was there’s to conquer from the bottom to the top and everywhere. They did ! They conquered almost every stadium in the world. Not climbing the seats and stairs. Climbing the rankings. We applaud the whole families and team. We applaud David Macpherson for coaching them thru these golden years ! 100 WINS. Goosebumps and bravos all around. The Bryan brothers are great for the game of tennis every way they can be. As examples of clean and healthy living. As ambassadors for the sport. They squeeze in so much charitable work. They are young philanthropists. They have helped save DOUBLES. ( John Mac the other TEFLON bro thinks dubs is extinct ..? Maybe The Teflon Bros are becoming extinct ? …. Maybe to hold his place in history books ? ) He CaNT be Serious. He just talks to stir things up. … We hope the BRYAN BROTHER’S stay in The Game Till they are Grandpas !

Here’s the Scores. &Details.

Doubles – Final: (1) Bryan/Bryan def. (11) Granollers/Lopez 6-3 6-4

Another week, another item for the Bryan Brothers record book. In this case, one hundred titles. Pretty routinely. Granollers/Lopez actually had more winners, but they also had far, far more errors — the Bryans officially produced only five. Hard to beat a team that plays like that.

It’s not only title #100 for the Twins, it’s also #100 for Bob (Mike has 102). And, of course, it breaks their year-long Slam drought. And, for all intents and purposes, it clinches the year-end #1. Again.

They have sixteen Slams as a team, the all-time record. They have five U. S. Open titles, the Open Era record and tied for the all-time record. They have won at least one Slam in each of the last ten years.

The records go on endlessly, but we’ll let Mike Bryan sum it up: “We’re obviously ecstatic. To win it here in front of this crowd makes it all the more special but we had to play our best match of the tournament to win today.”

Marcel Granollers and Marc Lopez have only one title this year, and it small (Buenos Aires), but they have two Slam finals (the other coming at Roland Garros). They came in at #9 in the doubles Race. It appears this will take them to #5. They haven’t clinched a spot at the year-end Championships, but it now looks like the way to bet. And they make nice rankings moves — Granollers from #20 to #10, and Lopez from #22 to #13:
