Exactly half of the field has gone by the wayside (well, at least that will be the case when the crazy Steve Johnson vs. Laurent Lokoli match finally ends), leaving 64 men remaining in the Roland Garros singles draw.

For close to twenty years, the face of American tennis has been Venus and Serena Williams. My mind wanders back to the silhouettes of two little girls scampering around the court, beads woven into their hair clacking in cadence to some faraway drum that was audible only to the two of them.
Donald Young Junior wins in four sets over Dudi Sela 6-1,2-6,6-1,6-0. Not sure where the rain delays were but fairly certain they had a few. I really don't know much about the match but we are certainly celebrating the win.
Just about halfway through the season, Dominic Thiem has pretty much already locked up ATP Newcomer of the Year honors. The 20-year-old Austrian started the 2014 campaign at No. 139 in the world and he is already up to 57th.

Rain is oozing into the schedule at Roland Garros. The forecasters had called for clouds, but no rain. It’s obvious that the meteorologists neglected to take a peek out their windows.

A look at the key events for the week of May 26.
The picture of Mirka and the girls watching Roger play today was awesome. The girls were dressed in white and black polka dot dresses. They all looked so beautiful. Both the twins had stylish sunglasses and one of the girls tried theirs on Severin. Mirka looked terrific for a mother of four ( all under 5 years old ) in a black and white ensemble too.

As usual, at least for the last nearly ninety years, the last month of spring always brings Roland Garros and for the past few years – buckets of rain. Even with the overcast skies and brief periods of showers, the crowds were buzzing with excitement.
The French Open got off to its traditional Sunday start, but a plethora of entertainment has been left for Monday and Tuesday as the first round heats up. While Roger Federer is already through to round two, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic have not yet made their 2014 Roland Garros debuts. Let's take a look a quick look ahead.
