This event marks the fifth consecutive year that the USTA Tennis on Campus program has hosted a season-ending tournament and travel experience for teams who are not attending the National Championship, held the same weekend in Surprise, Ariz.

The event is designed to give students a chance to compete against club teams from other colleges to maximize their playing experience, as well as provide an opportunity to claim an automatic bid into the Tennis on Campus National Championship. During the Spring Invitational, students will have an opportunity to socialize with other teams and network with club leaders from across the country on how to make their programs more successful in the future.

“The USTA Tennis On Campus Spring Invitational is one of the most popular events on the club tennis calendar,” said Glenn Arrington, National Manager, USTA Tennis On Campus. “It’s the capstone season-ending event that many students wait for all year long. Originally designed as an overflow tournament for our national championship which boasts 64 college teams, this event allows for an additional 32 college teams to have a similar championship experience to finalize their season.”

The USTA Tennis On Campus program features more than 35,000 college students competing nationwide in intramural and intercollegiate coed club play using the World TeamTennis format. Since its inception in 2000, Tennis On Campus has grown significantly and today is played on more than 600 college campuses across the country. Developed by the USTA in partnership with NIRSA, World TeamTennis and the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, the Tennis On Campus program gives college students the opportunity to build leadership skills, network in a coed sports environment and compete on a college team without the rigors of playing in a varsity program. With year-round match play, and regional and national championship competition, students maintain active and healthy lifestyles through their college years.
