Even after being diagnosed with Stage 4 Esophageal cancer back in August, Thousand Oaks resident Kevin Feinbloom realizes he still has a lot to be thankful for during this holiday season.

On Sunday at the North Ranch Country Club, Feinbloom joined emcee Jon Lovitz, pro tennis players Sam Querrey and Steve Johnson and former world-ranked No. 2 WTA player Andrea Jaeger in raising funds to assist children with cancer from Ventura County get the needed help and care during such a trying time.

Because of the gracious support of the Southern California tennis community, Feinbloom and his Fans In the Stands foundation was able to present Jaeger’s Little Stars Foundation with a check for $50,000.

“It was an incredible day, better than we ever expected,” an overwhelmed Feinbloom said following the event. “It was a wonderful experience for me and my family and everyone really loved it. The tennis community was amazing. Everyone we asked for help stepped up and no one said no.”

Feinbloom singled out Querrey especially on Sunday for stepping up and assisting any way he could. “After I got diagnosed, Sam came out hit with me and my son and my nephew for two hours on a Sunday,” Feinbloom told the crowd. “I consider Sam a friend and he’s been more than generous throughout this entire time.”

Jaeger also addressed the crowd and repeated those sentiments. “I just want to thank Sam for coming out here and being so involved in planning this event. His world is being a professional tennis player so this really shouldn’t be what he’s focused on, but as good as a tennis player he is on the court, he’s even a better guy off the court.”

Added Feinbloom: “It’s a wonderful thing what Andrea does for children with cancer. I’m glad she was able to make it out and that we can help her to make an impact in treating these kids with cancer.”

Prizes were numerous and included a Davis Cup ticket package courtesy of the website www.10sBalls.com and an hour-long hitting sessions with Pete Sampras.
