Bryans Win Paris Indoor Title for the Third Time  |

Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan won their 11th tour-level title of the season on Sunday as they defeated Alexander Peya and Bruno Soares 6-3, 6-3 in the finals at the BNP Paribas Masters in Paris.

“It was great week for us,” said Bob Bryan. “We’re very happy with our performance against a team that has had a fantastic year and who is playing with a lot of confidence at the moment. Hopefully this bodes well for the last tournament of the season.

“This city has been good to us during our careers. We appreciate the support from the Parisian crowd and today’s atmosphere was fantastic for doubles. We’ll travel onto London tonight via the Chunnel and we look forward to playing at The O2, another venue where the spotlight shines brightly on our sport.”

It is their fifth ATP World Tour Masters 1000 crown of the season, following victories in Indian Wells, Madrid, Rome and Cincinnati. The Bryans also captured three majors at Wimbledon, the Australian, and the French Open.

The 35-year-old California twins won the title at the Palais Omnisports for the third time, having previously triumphed in 2005 (d. Knowles/Nestor) and 2007 (d. Nestor/Zimonjic).

The Bryans avenged their loss in last week’s Valencia final to Peya and Soares as they broke serve five times and won 74 per cent of their service points, prevailing in 61 minutes.

Both the Bryans and Peya and Soares will now travel to London for the season-ending Barclays ATP World Tour Finals. They Bryans will make their 11th appearance at the season finale, having won it three times. Excerpted from ATP Staff report.
