Roger Federer playing in his 10th. Finals in his hometown of Basel and lost. As Lynette would say “what a pity ..” Rogi tried his best but lost to Delpo in 3 tough sets. He stuck around afterwards and served and ate pizza with the ball kids. After all he was once one of them.

The world renown British journalist Richard Evans will be sharing his observations for us from Paris. Stay tuned for some great tidbits this week. We think Richard has written more books on tennis than anyone else alive ? He was a great friend of Arthur Ashe and Gene Scott the founders of the NJTL.

Serena Williams the queen of ladies tennis. She holds the titles this year. Heaps of them. Poor Maria Sharapova and that sore shoulder ? Same injury has plagued her whole career. That or a convenient medical excuse ? Either is fine with us. The season is too long.

Interesting that there are 7 ATP challengers this week. Talk about long seasons. Geneva , Charlottesville ,Montevideo ,Seoul,Casablanca ,and Eckental and Traralgon. I was never good at geography. So I had to look up the last 2. They are in Germany and Australia.

Great to hear that Indian Wells is on budget and ahead of schedule on it’s new stadium 2. Oracle stadium has a nice ring to it ?

Follow your favorite tennis players on instagram. It’s great. You see the meals they eat. Their training routines. The views from their hotel rooms.

Follow tennis on the bleacher report. Great for smart phones and tablets. It always has 50 odd/interesting stories . Their tennis newsletter is great as well. Sign up .

Great to hear the opinions and commentating of the great Rob Koenig. Robbie is able to bring a keen eye as a former player and coach he knows everyone and is well liked by all that he knows. So his inside scoop and analysis is “spot on ” he does global feed at all the majors as well as the master events. Other announcers should take a lesson from Robbie. He never speaks during a point. And he isn’t in the cockpit to chat. He is there to clue us in.He Brings us there to the action with him.

Great to see Redfoo back from down under. He has been touring and judging for months. Tennis needs his adrenaline.

Great to see Vittorio Selmi at the Gulbis match in Paris. “Vito” is a walking tennis ATP media guide. He knows the players. The rules. The sport. He is best buddies with both Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal from their earliest rivalry. Some in tennis feel their mutual respect was out of friendship to Vito. Many of the smart boys sat and listened to Vitos tales from ” back in the day ” Max the Beast Mirnyi was one of them. Great stories. Great memories. Totally Great guy.We are always very Happy to see you around.
