Gael Monfils did it again. He showed his brilliance on the court of a combination of his athleticism and true tennis talent and shotmaking. He needed it all. He beat ” Mr. Red Shorts ” aka the Great Roger Federer. The scores were 6-4,6-7(5),6-3. The match lasted a little over 2 hours.

Gaels serve was really “on” he had a total of 15 aces. There were 6 in the first set,2 in the second set, and 7 in the third set. Roger is a great returner. So those aces were truly earned , cause RF will steal your aces from you ….

This is only going to make the challenge of qualifying for the Barclays year end championships that much harder. Roger stated : ” It was the goal at the beginning of the season to qualify for London . I consider it the absolute best of the best tournament out there , so I want to be part of that .” Rogi we want agree with you and want to see you there ! 02 arena here we come.

The three confirmed players are Nadal,Djokovic,Ferrer. Murray has pulled out. Del Potro just got a boost by Tommy Haas pulling out of their match today so he is thru to the quarters. Thomas Berdych also lost today to Almagro in three . Stan Wawrinka won today he beat Milos Raonic !( RF thanks you ) Gasquet lost in the first round. And Milos loss today help Rogi a little bit. That’s all bad news for Federer except for Gasquet who was in London last year but as the alternate. ( He didn’t play.)

There are still some more weeks of tourneys. There’s Basel and Valencia and Paris is the last masters of the year .

Roger is still thrilling the fans in Shanghai , he is still in the doubles.
