Djokovic Loses Again In US Open Finals | 
Novak Djokovic may be starting to doubt himself, with the Serb now concerned over his status as world No. 1 after losing the US Open final to surging Spaniard Rafael Nadal.
Djokovic has played in the last four finals in New York, but has come up with only one title, back in 2011 when he beat Nadal.
Now Djokovic is looking over his shoulder with the autumn Asian swing approaching. Events in Beijing and Shanghai will serve as potential revenge venues for Djokovic, who knows he needs to stop the Iberian express if he is to hold onto year-end top honors.
“He’s won so much this year. I’m still No. 1, but year to date he’s far, far ahead. He has much more chances to end up as No. 1 But there are still tournaments to go. So we’ll see.”
Djokovic has been stuck on six majors since winning his last in January with a third straight at the Australian Open. “He’s definitely one of the best tennis players ever to play the game. Looking at his achievements and his age, at this moment – he still has a lot of years to play. That’s all I can say.”
But at the same time, the Serb is certainly not giving up on his own chances. “That’s what we are here for. I’m still 26, and I believe the best time for my career is about to come. As long as I believe it, the fire and the love towards the game is inside of me, as long as that’s present … I’m going to play this sport with all my heart as I did in the last 10 years.”
