Day 2 US OPEN 2013  |

You would think a week before the open starts things are very quite and easy going. It is actually the opposite! The amount qualifiers that are here the players lounge is packed and payers coaches parents organizers are all looking for a place to sit before during and and in between practise.

The bus that I took at 9 am (like yesterday) leaves every hour on the hour! On Sunday it took 15 min and today 25 door to door. Now if it starts raining or a driver is new and gets lost (which has happened many times) it takes you an hour! Leaving on time is a must!

The busses that are used are not just transporters but real coach busses seating over 50 people! Like yesterday the bus was filled up!

Again today was about planning scheduling and keeping up to date with players traveling plans and their schedule on having several practise session.

I always love being on Louis Armstrong court (the former stadium court) where, when I was coaching Aranxta Sanchez Vicario won the 1993 doubles title with Helena Sukova.

The practise schedules are handled by the players practise desk and they provide the 6 balls per session (45 min on the match courts and practise courts )! However if you are one of the seated players or a player with privileges you can book the bigger show courts in the referees office!

The referee office is located right next to the entrance is the Arthur Ashe Stadium and for as long as I can remember and I have been coming here Judi is out savior when it comes to helping us with getting court time!

I could not resist a little visit to the biggest stage in tennis after booking the court for tomorrow while Roget was practicing!

After I got back to the hotel around 6 I got a hair cut to look sharp for the weeks ahead and had a walk through the city where I passed by a great park where they were showing on a big screen ET! You can not believe how many people were there! I love this city

Looking forward to another day at THE OPEN and have several practise sessions and watch some qualifying matches and at night a adidas Andy Murray Store appearance.
