CIRSTEA WITHDRAWS

Sorana Cirstea has withdrawn due to a left abdominal injury. She has been replaced by [LL] Monica Niculescu, who will play Yanina Wickmayer in the fourth match on Court 9.

Cirstea said the following about her withdrawal:

“It’s a left abdominal strain I felt before my semis in Toronto. I pushed through the semis and through the final, and took yesterday off. I thought it was going to be better but it didn’t improve. It hurts right now when I’m serving, so unfortunately I had to pull out. It was a tough decision because I have been playing so well and I really wanted to keep going, but my health is most important.”
