JUDY MURRAY ON ANDY’S WIMBLEDON WIN AND ITS LEGACY:

“I was glued to Wimbledon since I was a little girl, and then I was thinking, god, my son has just won Wimbledon – and of course Jamie won a Wimbledon title a few years before that – and this is where it started our little club – and hopefully its going to inspire a lot more kids to pick up tennis and certainly in the local area to come down to our little club.”

ON DUNBLANE’S CELEBRATIONS FOLLOWING ANDY’S WIMBLEDON WIN:

“To drive round the roundabout and see all the signs saying well done and the shops are all full of it and see so many kids on the court -it’s wonderful. It’s brought a lot of happiness to our town.”

ON THE CELEBRATIONS IN DUNBLANE FOLLOWING ANDY MURRAY’S OLYMPIC VICTORY:

“I think that was an amazing day – I don’t think any of us had any idea of what to expect – I expected it to be busy, but I never had any idea of how busy it actually was – they ended up having to close the road in as there was no parking space left – he spent so much time zig-zagging from one side of the street to the other, trying not to miss anyone at all – he spent so much time – and I think that everyone that came out to see him really appreciated that – and then of course we came here, and we ended up having around 200 children on the court, but to end up back here where it all started, was all a wee bit too much for me – I think that it brought it all back to this is where we started out and coming back with both sons with Grand Slam titles, that was amazing.”
