BNP Paribas Taste of Tennis Alums Lagasse, Samuelsson Honored at 2013 James Beard Awards
The BNP Paribas Taste of Tennis has had the highest caliber of chefs participate over the event’s 13 year history.  We are proud to congratulate our alums, Chefs Emeril Lagasse and Marcus Samuelsson, who were honored at the 2013 James Beard Foundation Awards. Emeril received the James Beard Foundation Humanitarian of the Year Award for his dedication to philanthropy and Marcus received the Writing and Literature Honor for his book ‘Yes, Chef: A Memoir.”  Join us for the  14th Annual BNP Paribas Taste of Tennis on 8/22, which will feature other past, present & future James Beard honorees!

Restaurateur Drew Nieoprent is a ROCK STAR.Nieporent’s first restaurant, the groundbreakingMontrachet (1985), earned three stars from the New York Times and kept that rating for 21 years. Over the last 26 years, Drew’s company, Myriad Restaurant Group, has opened over 35 restaurants around the world. His partnership with sushi master Nobu Matsuhisa and actor Robert DeNiro has garnered international acclaim and success. Nobu NYC was voted “Best Restaurant in America” by the James Beard Foundation. Other great facts about Drew you may not know – he once turned down Henry Kissinger, his prized possession is an autograph from Muhammad Ali and he is featured in the 2011 documentary “A Matter of Taste.” Read our AYS exclusive interview with him here.
