With perhaps a Porsche 911 Carrera 4s to spare after winning the WTA Stuttgart title for the past two years, an early birthday gift from Maria Sharapova to boyfriend Grigor Dimitrov may be the reason for the sleek blue machine now reportedly parked in his Paris garage.

Sharapova was pictured posing proudly in the luxury coupe last weekend after her clay victory in Germany. Now Switzerland’s Blick tabloid reports that the soon-to-be 22-year-old Bulgarian Dimitrov might have been handed the keys to the posh prize as he turns 22 this month

Sharapova and Dimitrov have been seen together since early in the year, but neither have given actual confirmation of a relationship. But Sharapova may have dropped the big hint during her recent trophy ceremony when she confessed not to be a big car collector – but did have a friend who would be thrilled by her most recent acquisition.

“I’m not a man who collects cars, but my friend is crazy about cars,” she said of the 350-horsepower monster which was on display all week on court.

Meanwhile Dimitrov, ranked 29, has told CNN that he wants to end the comparisons between his smooth style and that of world No. 2 Roger Federer.

“All the comparisons, I think that I definitely want people to stop with that,” he told Pat Cash. “Of course we have some similarities here and there and I’m flattered to hear that. Actually I thought it was really cool at the beginning. But with time I’ve realized that I’m trying to build up my own style and when I’m court to do my own shots.”
