Little more than a week after Bernard Tomic announced he had realized the error of his ways and maintained he would concentrate of adopting the right lifestyle to help his tennis, the 20 year-old Australian has again been in trouble with the Queensland police.

Tomic, dropped from the Australian Davis Cup team that faces Chinese Taipei on disciplinary grounds, was reportedly caught speeding in his yellow Ferrari on Tuesday evening/ He was driving at 78km/h (48 mph) in a 60km/h (37 mph) zone.

He was routinely handed an Aus$220 (US$230) fine which comes with a loss of three points from his license. From past infringements, Tomic needed to lose just one more point in order to lose his license.

In January last year, Tomic was issued three $300 traffic fines on the one day while driving in Broad beach, on the Gold Coast, and he claimed a police officer wanted to hit him. Tomic was later found guilty of failing to stop for police, was fined $750, and given a 12-month good behavior bond.

“It was a big misunderstanding, I’m glad it’s over,” Tomic said at the time. “It’s been really difficult for my tennis and myself . . . now I can really focus on my tennis and getting my performance back to where it should be.”
