MLC Tennis Hot Shots announced the launch of its brand new game for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. Tennis Hot Shots Galaxy, a fun tennis game that has been designed to support the program and encourage children to get on court, is now available to download for free from the App Store.

While the first game was essentially a role playing game, Tennis Hot Shots Galaxy now gives players complete control of the action.

Players can execute special moves including ‘Mega Forehand’, ‘Lightning Lob’, ‘Sonic Boom’ and ‘Atomic Smash’. These powerful moves are accompanied by exciting animations that in most cases win the point for the player who executes them.

‘Environmental elements’ in three new levels – Jurassic, Spooky and Galactic Opens – will also challenge the players. Players competing in the Jurassic Open will need to watch out for dinosaurs wandering by and a pesky pterodactyl that may swoop in from time to time and steal the ball.

The game also encourages kids to get up and stay active through daily step challenges. Each day players are challenged to walk or run a certain number of steps, measured by a built-in pedometer. If the challenge is completed they are rewarded with coins that can be spent in the Pro Shop. Players can purchase items to kit out their player including headwear, T-shirts, shoes and racquets.

Other new features include updates and news on MLC Tennis Hot Shots and links to the program’s website to help players find a coach and their local tennis club, making it easy for them to play tennis.

“After the tremendous success of the first game we’re excited to unveil this latest game and continue engaging both kids and parents with the MLC Tennis Hot Shots program,” said Craig Morris, MLC Tennis Hot Shots Leader.

“We hope young kids will pick up a racquet and head to their local club to play tennis with their friends.”

Tennis Hot Shots Galaxy was created by Tennis Australia and Melbourne-based award-winning game developers Millipede Creative Development.

This is the second game that Tennis Australia and Millipede have produced following the success of the first game, Tennis Hot Shots. As well as notching up more than 70,000 downloads worldwide, Tennis Hot Shots broke into the top 10 Sports and Role Playing games and featured on the App Store’s ‘What’s Hot?’ list.
