It was Leander Paes Miami Sony Ericsson Open … Yup that’s right. Leander has now won the event the past three years. Each time with a different partner. It’s AmazeBalls. Leander Paes and his newest partner Radek Stepanek beat Daniel Nestor and Max Mirnyi. the scores were 3-6,6-1,10-8. Big congrats. Wish it was televised… It was only an hour and twenty minutes. Must have been doubles brilliance. That’s four fast pairs of hands @ the net. I also dislike the no third set in a championship match. At least let each guy serve once. Then do a super breaker? Doesn’t anyone out there agree?

Bhupathi. And in 2010 it was with Dlouhy. pretty good for a daddy and a guy born in 1973.yikes. Same age as Jack Benny. (39).

Charleston. Aka the Family Circle Cup had the most amazing reunion that women’s professional tennis has seen. Gladys Heldman up in heaven would be so astounded .. The entire Heldman Clan you should all be proud.Gladys not only gave the world ” WorldTennis ” magazine. First issue in 1953. But she and she alone formed the professional ladies tour. BJK was the most well known of the ladies so many “tennis historians ” list her as the founder?…..

It was great to see the event bring them all back together. The photo was great. The ladies all looked super … What a great effort. Glad that the current WTA sees how golden all of our players are. Gladys was a brilliant woman with boundless energy. Her dear daughters Julie and Trixie were all contributors to her efforts and are brave , strong women that daily live life to the fullest. Julie was a heck of a player. Geezer was at Forest Hills the day Julie took out Billie Jean King ….JH was a crafty player and talented athlete. (Stanford)

The ladies are. Billie Jean King. Rosie Casals. Julie Heldman. Peaches Barkowitz. Judy Dalton .Kristy Pidgeon. Val Ziegenfuss. Kerry Melville.And Nancy Richey ( very active on Facebook. )

If you are in the Coachella valley, (Rancho Mirage) or (Rancho Las Palmas),  the event runs from now (kick off party) thru the week on Tuesday April 10 Mats Wilander will be speaking. (6-7/30). go watch some great young juniors. The field is really strong. We Couldn’t even help Abe get a wc.

I saved the most elegant for last. The Monte Carlo Country Club. Yup. The most amazing setting. The backdrop of the sea…. The Clubhouse court… You can feel the history… The glamour is still there. I kept looking for Cary Grant. Or Princess Grace… Jim Courier looked good is his suit and shades … But he is no George Clooney. …

John Isner played a great Davis Cup Tie. He is a solid top 10 player. He can be in the top five. Johnny Boy Can beat anyone on any day. He is a Big threat to Rafa, Roger, Nole, and Andy.

So how are the Americans that played in Monaco getting back to Houston for the ATP event ? GulfStream , BBJ ( Boeing bus jet )? 737? private? Charter? commercial?

Saw 10sballs.Coms friend and supporter Xavier Malisse in the dubs draw in Houston with Mark Knowles. In singles X Man plays Igor Kunitsyn. Our buddy Frank Moser lost in singles qualies. But made it into dubs draw with new partner Ivo Karlovic.
