Dubai Duty Free Names Caroline Wozniacki and Ana Ivanovic Global Ambassadors

Dubai Duty Free, the world’s leading airport retailer, and the WTA (Women’s Tennis Association) announced today that global women’s tennis stars Caroline Wozniacki and Ana Ivanovic have signed on as brand ambassadors for Dubai Duty Free. The Dubai Duty Free Player Ambassador Program is an integral element of the newly renewed partnership between Dubai Duty Free and the WTA, extended for an additional three years through 2014.

“Dubai has a special place in my heart and it feels great to return this year as defending champion of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships. Being an ambassador for Dubai Duty Free is a great honor and it gives me the opportunity to help promote one of my favorite destinations,” said Caroline Wozniacki.

“I am really flattered that Dubai Duty Free asked me to become its brand ambassador. It is a great company that has also been extremely supportive of women’s tennis. I always get excited about traveling to Dubai as it is one of the most exciting cities in the world,” said Ana Ivanovic.

Both players are supreme professionals and are excellent ambassadors for women’s tennis. Wozniacki and Ivanovic – both former World No.1’s and owners of 29 collective titles – will act as Dubai Duty Free’s brand ambassadors, star in the “Dubai Duty Free Full of Surprises Travel Show” – a unique short form-travel series which will be aired on TV and online – and conduct appearances at sporting events sponsored by Dubai Duty Free.

The core elements of the WTA’s new extension with Dubai Duty Free, including the Player Ambassador Program, are designed to align Dubai Duty Free’s standing as the No.1 duty free retailer in the world with the No.1 global sport for women and some of its biggest stars.

A WTA sponsor since 2004, Dubai Duty Free’s partnership with the WTA has over the years been marked by leadership and innovation. Dubai Duty Free has been a longstanding supporter of the WTA, having been the first event in the Middle East to award equal prize money and a strong supporter of the growth of women’s tennis throughout the region. Dubai Duty Free is the owner, organizer and title sponsor of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships , an equal prize money Premier tournament on the WTA calendar and a cornerstone event for Women’s and Men’s tennis in the Middle East. The Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships take place on February 20-25, 2012 with newly-crowned WTA World No.1 Victoria Azarenka facing a field that features eight of the world’s top 10 players, including defending champion Wozniacki, and winners of the past three Grand Slams – Li Na, Sam Stosur and Petra Kvitova.
