Richard great to have you up here again, congratulations.

Thank you very much.

A match that you controlled and didn’t let Fernando settle into his own rhythm.

Yeah I think I played well, especially with my serve and my backhand. I tried to play a dip with it to play after, to go to the net. I served very well that’s why I think at the beginning of the match he didn’t break me, so that was incredible for me.

It’s turning into a great week for you now. As we said you’ve beaten Lleyton Hewitt, you’ve beaten Fernando. This is a perfect lead up to the Australian summer of tennis. You’re hitting the ball well and you look fit.

Yeah it’s very good for me to play these kind of guys, they are the best of the world, so I’m happy to win. I think I’m playing good, my serve is good and physical too and I have no pain, so I think I’m ready for the Australian. I hope to win here in the final, it’s good for us to be in final.

France is through, congratulations, to the final possibly against the Czech Republic – it’s yet to be decided. You and Marion are forming a very, very nice combination.

Yeah she is one of the best players in the world, she is number nine. I’m playing good, I won all my matches, but I think maybe we play against the Czech Republic. They have two incredible players, so we’ll see. We won’t be the favourite of the match but we will try our best to win. We are confident, we are enjoying here in Perth, so it’s good for us.

The good news is you can relax now; there will be no mixed doubles between France and Spain. There’s no need as the Tie is decided. You’ve got a big fan base here, you may not know it – there was a Greyhound that used to run around in Perth. It had 10 wins and won $12,000 and they called it Gasquet, so you must have a lot of fans here and a lot of fans have come out to watch you.

Yeah I saw a lot of guys cheering for me, especially here in the tournament – a lot of French. It’s good for us to have a lot of French, and to play with all these people is incredible. You know it’s a lot, a lot of people here. We are travelling all over the world and we can see that it’s a good tournament here to play, and we are very happy.
