Novak Djokovic admits that winning the upcoming Barclays ATP World Tour Finals in London would represent the perfect end to his competitive 2011 but he is not putting himself under any undue pressure to succeed.

Apart from Britain’s Andy Murray, Djokovic was one of the first competitors to arrive as London prepared to stage the ATP’s calendar finale at the Thameside O2 Arena for the third time. Last week he was forced to withdraw from the quarter finals of the BNP Paribas Masters in Paris because of ongoing shoulder problems and he has not played without injury concerns since the early rounds of the U.S. Open.

But the winner of three of this year’s four Grand Slam titles and five Masters 1000 tournaments said: “I don’t feel obliged to win the tournament in order to make this season perfect but I will do my best to prepare and finish off the season in style.”

Professional contentment is very much part of the current Djokovic mindset and he added: “You need to be satisfied with any success in sport and life. You don’t need a huge celebration but there is an inner satisfaction and you have to appreciate it.

“The positive momentum I have had this year equals the confidence I have in myself and that is the most important asset you have as an athlete or a person.”

After winning Wimbledon in July, London is currently very high in Djokovic’s list of favorite cities. Within hours of arriving he and girlfriend Jelena Ristic attended a premier for the new movie in the Twilight series: Breaking Dawn.

But now he is confidently looking ahead to another prize on offer at Wimbledon next year. “The Olympics,” he said. “I have gold on my mind.

“I’ve always been very ambitious with high expectations from myself. I have won Wimbledon, which gives me enough reason to believe I can do it.

“You are playing for your country and you get that opportunity only for Davis Cup. It’s crazy thinking not to have tennis in the Olympics. It is the ultimate dream of any athlete. When you say Wimbledon, you are talking tennis, but Olympics is for the whole sport, so to win a medal. Wow.”
