Lucky loser Lukas Lacko loses to wild card Donald Young Jr. It was great. Scores 6-4,6-4,6-2. Now  “D.Y.” plays Stan Wawrinka in the second round. 10sballs.com has been a friend and fan of “D.Y.” for a long time….. Great kid! I heard his dad missed match because of Irene he couldn’t get a flight from Atlanta .. Maybe next round Sr. Will be there. It was great to see Illona so happy. She is a great mom and a great coach!

There are so many “back stories ” that we haven’t heard. Lots of players really struggled to arrive. Lots were really stressed and had to change locations.

The US Open is an event that gives the players a housing per diem. So players stay all over, from New Jersey to Connecticut. To motels on Long Island to friends couches in Brooklyn to five star hotels or to anywhere in lower Manhattan. They daily amt. is the same for all players.

We wonder if Conor Nilands food poisoning was due to bad food from Irene?

What do you get with a Mac another Mac and Darren Cahill? An Auzzie whose a great commentator and two brothers amusing themselves and last night talking over Federer. Tonight they are non stop “blah blah blah” during Rafa…

Speaking of commentators. Did anyone with direct and all six stations hear Louise Pleming and Brian Weber? They called the Nalbandian vs Bobby Reynolds match. They were fantastic. Louise is an former WTA player and current coach at A.I.S. (Australian institute of sport). Brian Weber has a nice voice and friendly personality. Louise handles all the rest. Luigi Serra your photos are beautiful!!!

Who do you think is a good commentator? I like most unless they yak during points. Two regular faves are Rob or Robbie Koenig of South Africa. A former ATP player with a keen eye and Jason Goodall. So how about you?
