Tennis is blessed to have so many great sponsors. Yesterday I saw the Corona beer for me…. it was 24 ounces…. First I thought it was a mirage… After watching Donald Young win his last match in qualies. I was thirsty… Sure enjoyed that ice-cold Corona! We were celebrating.
Just got off the phone with Richard Krajicek. King Richard! He runs the best indoor tourney in the world in Rotterdam.
Ever wonder why Max Mirnyi is called “the Beast?” Yesterday during his practice he had to hit a reflex volley … the ball was coming at his head and as he put his racket up he hit himself on the eyebrow…. Ouch… He ran from practice court into lockerroom. Got it treated and stitched and glued and was back to practicing in ten minutes …
This is the second morning in a row that we’ve seen Kim Clijsters out for an early practice … She is looking great. She’s cut her hair a little shorter…. She is fit and hitting so soundly. It’s a wonderful thing to see. Big Boss first met Kim the year she went thru qualies as a rookie at Wimbledon.
Our buddy Austin Karosi just ran by. He was off to court 12 to warm up Li Na… He was running and very excited. …
Yesterday we also saw Milos Raonic in person. He is heading to the top on a rocket launcher. Wildcard here. Wildcard in Miami. How wonderful for Canada to have a male and a female rising star… Milos and Rebecca Marino. All the “snowbirds” from Canada are here in force to support the two young Canadians.
10sballs.com will be on court 7 this morning first up at 11. Elena Baltacha. Also known as “Bally” will be playing Roberta Vinci of Italy. … Good luck Bally …
