My copy just arrived. It’s written by Jane Leavy. Number seven on the NY Yankees was my favorite baseball player. Followed closely by Roger Maris. Reminds me of Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. It’s funny I didn’t know about the book… But… Just last week Gussie Moran was telling me about how Althea Gibson would drive golf balls with the Yankees in Englewood, New Jersey. Gussie said that Althea was such an amazing female athlete. That’s saying a lot coming from Gussie who was such a talented athlete herself. She said Althea was hitting the golf ball 250 yards every time. Only Mantle hit farther. Maybe 350… It’s black history month. Let’s never forget my idol. The multiple- talented Althea Gibson. I knew smooth when I saw it even as a kid…. Althea was ahead if her time. A product of the streets of Harlem… She could also sing… More another time… Getting back to the greatest baseball player ever… Home run hitter… A pure athlete… A country farm boy… Strong because everyday he worked his muscles. No steroids or growth hormones…..
The Family Circle Cup announced that Daniela Hantuchova plans to play in Charleston, South Carolina. We love Daniela… she has always been one if our favorite of the “ovas ” … glad to see her having a good year… The event is April 2nd till April 10th. So hurry and buy seats. Tickets. Or packages.
