Day 8 OZ Open  |

You would think that things would slow down but I think we are at our best when staying busy!!

Today was the 1st day that I missed a transport/bus to the site in my entire career! It would be easy to blame someone but I will take full responsibility! Mats was on time as always but was not able to hold the bus (he told me the bus driver was in a bad mood).

In the end, the transport sent us another car (the best transportation on tour) and we were at the site with plenty of time to spare! Even squeezed in an espresso!

Today Caro had an easy and quiet hit with Mats from 10 to 11:30 indoors and kept the practice closed from the press so she could focus fully on her game and not have any distractions!

Yesterday Caroline decided to tell another story about her Australian experience and why she is wearing a bandage on her right leg just above the ankle! She told the press that a kangaroo attacked and bit her in the leg! Some of the press believed it but when they found that it was just a story to have a laugh they gave her an Australian Kangaroo! Plus a fan even came up to me during another practice I had with Esther Vergeer and wanted me to give it to Caroline (I kindly declined).

We also had another scouting day and watched some of the juniors that Adidas has under contract! (More of this later in the week)

After the hit with Esther Vergeer (who had another interview before her practice- they show great interest here in Australia) Maria Kirilenko had a warm-up for her doubles! I always enjoy spending time with Maria she has a great sense of humor and told me she is more relaxed now (she had to defend her quarter final from last year but felt too much pressure this week) now she is in both doubles and mixed and I would not be surprised that she will have a great run!

When I walked off the court the schedule came out and I was planning for tomorrow in prep for Caroline’s quarter final against Schiavone!

Also tonight there will be the draw ceremony for the wheelchair tennis tournament!

As I am typing I am walking with Mats to have dinner with Caroline and her parents (at Nobu) early at 6 pm and enjoy some quality food and time together!

Safe travels on the Bus!!!
