Day 6 OZ Open  |

Last night we had a nice dinner with Caroline and her parents and after dinner we walked around “the Crown” (a big hotel where many players are staying and a casino; where many restaurants night clubs and cinemas are located)

After dinner Mats really wanted to buy some glasses and got professional advice from Caroline Woznaicki (see pic). In the end, not only Mats ended up buying a pair but so did her father Peter!

After dinner I had to head back to the Hyatt to catch up with Sorana Cirstea! She had some results from the ultrasound and is leaving back to Europe! Also Floris Minnaert and Darren joined us to have a team meeting for the upcoming weeks!

The new day started with a 7:30 am run along the Yara river to start the day with a fresh start!

We had Ayumi Morita warming up at 10 to 10:30 with Mats on court 3 where she was scheduled with her match against S. Peng! (See pic)!

At 10:30 to 12 we scheduled a practice session indoors with Caroline Wozniacki (the reason for the indoor session is because she will play on one of the big courts, which are semi covert! Plus to have some quality time instead of being outside with 100’s of people watching and many camera’s watching every move! Which does drain your energy especially when it is a hot sunny day like it was today)!

Ayumi had a big fight today and was really close to victory! At 3-3 in the 3rd she 0-40 on the serve of S. Peng but could not commit and ended up loosing 6-3 (Peng was even cramping at the end of the match and would she had been able to win won more game she could have made it!)

After the match I received the text from Caroline that she is scheduled for her 4th round match on the Rod Laver arena starting at 11!

Also Sorana came to say goodbye before she was heading to Europe! Funny feeling that for some Australia is over for another year and the countdown for the next Aussie open starts all over again!

We look forward to another Australian open day tomorrow!!
