Nadal Commits to Playing Queen’s | 
The potential of a two-week break between defending his French Open and Wimbledon titles may be tempting for Rafael Nadal but the world no.1 has again committed to play the AEGON Championships at The Queen’s Club (June 6 thru 12, 2012).
So, assuming the Majorcan will again figure in the later stages of Roland Garros next June, he will board the Eurostar train and make a quick dash to London to compete in the second biggest grass court event in the world behind the All England Club’s Championships.
“I love playing at The Queen’s Club because it is a traditional club,” said Nadal. “Every time I have played there I have felt very welcome because of the British people and their support, and because of the tournament organisers who are so good at their job.”
Nadal has reached the Wimbledon final shortly after all four of his appearances at The Queen’s Club – he was the Wimbledon runner-up in 2006 and 2007, and the champion in 2008 and 2010. In 2009, he was injured and unable to play either event.
Chris Kermode, AEGON Championships Tournament Director, was delighted with the news and said: “Rafa’s achievements over the past six months have been astounding, and we are thrilled that he has made such an early commitment to play at the AEGON Championships in 2011.
